On that note of oil pumps WATCH THE BOTLS THEY SUPPLY WITH THE OIL PUMP I have the 1679 in the Baja that a P.O. had suffered the "put the bolt in supplied with the pump they should be right" right. NOT tore the cam bolts off and junked a gear and cam and pump. Almost lost the case also. Just measure the case thickness and oil pump thickness and get the right length bolts.

Wow! That did do some damage! Ill definitely look out for that when i put it in. Tins just fit like crap to start with. Had to do some trimming and grinding to get em to fit. Its coming along nicely. Thanks for the compliments!

Got the carbs bolted down today. Cleaned up the alternator and stand and got that put on with the new backing plate. Working on some linkage issues right now that were unexpected but i think i can get it figured out. I made the mistake of mounting the coil to the shroud before i checked if it would clear the cross bar linkage. it clears but just bearly. Im not super happy with it but i already drilled holes in the shroud so its gonna have to stay. I also got the wrong rod ends for the linkage with the carbs so ive got to figure that out. Kinda frustrating but thats how it goes. I will be ordering a CB maxi oil pump so i can "full flow" it. I like the idea of an actual filter. The stainless dash/gauge panel that a friend of mine built for it turned out AWESOME and now he is moving on to the roof rack. Pics to come....

I am VERY happy with it! He did a great job building it. At some point I will have to get a matching speedo for it but thats not super important right now.

Well, it looks like i wont be getting the rail back for another month. Due to him needing some parts i have he is going to fully re wire the thing front to back. I didn't really want to do that anyway so im good with it. I narrowly avoided a MAJOR problem when the probe for my oil temp sensor broke off IN THE CASE. Fully my stupid fault but i got it out(thankfully). So i am going to get the correct fitting for it and get another probe. I did find the linkage parts i needed from grainger on sale from 14.00 to 1.52! So i will get the carbs set up this week. I also ordered my CB maxi oil pump as well. Progress is progress i suppose
