Has anyone ever run shocks from a 4 wheeler? Say a yfz450 remote reservoir coilovers? This would be on my rail

Hu, it's an interesting idea. It could be done, but there are a lot of shocks out there that are relatively affordable, available basically anywhere, and are made to fit. I'm not sure there would be much if any advantage. I feel like they would be to light for heavy off road use. They may be alright for the front, but the back? No, go with a stiffer shock if off roading. For street use, yeah, a light shock is good, but such a high performance shock would never be worth it on the front of a rail. A $15 oil shock would be more than adequate for leisurely street driving. Just my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt.

problem is them wheeler shocks work with linkage ,so short stroke? and you won't have enough travel, and plus ther are expensive!!!

The more I look into it, I dont think they will have enough travel. I was just thinking about trying them cause they are cheaper than "actual" coilovers. Not that I really need them anyway......

Out if curiosity, why were you looking into a coil over substitute? Were you thinking of ditching the torsion bars? Truth be told, on an otherwise stock suspension, torsion bars work pretty darn good. In my opinion, coil overs never be worth it unless you run longer trailing arms, such as 3x3s.

Not really sure to be honest. I was just thinking of ideas for the rail while it sits under the tarp in the backyard. I just see a lot of guys running coilovers and thought maybe I would too? I dont know, I guess maybe im just bored cause I cant work on it.......Perhaps Ill just stick with regular shocks on it.

I would stick with the torsion bars and a good set of plain-jane gas charged oil shocks. That is a hard combination to beat for stock length trailing arms.
