I've never heard of a cam & lifter issues with Gibbs ether I'd use at least one qt. of Penn mixed with whatever oil your using with a stock motor ('engine'):Patrick Heavy springs? use all Brad Penn!!!!!! even at $7 a Qt. it's cheap insurance compared to a cam & lifter replacement

Red can of STP has zink,Blue don't ,, any oil that has an 'SM' rating is for new cars with cat. converters Hey Dutch,Heavy springs in that buggy? and it ain't gonna last sure I use STP, , but only for assembly lube!!!!

as Clinton said, some oil is better than no oil. I just don't want to take any chances. I also use the EOS as assembly lube.

I use the non SM quaker state 30wt for older passenger cars. The blue bottle says right on it that it has zinc in it. Forgive my lack of knowlage but why wont it last?

Yea I am aware of the slip in 88 issues. Ive been beating on it for a month or so and the only issues ive had are with the carb. If it dies ill rebuild it!

Thanks everyone for all the comments. I enjoyed following this thread the past several days.
