whoever did this wins 'Hack of the year' trophy F.I.intake with a POS progressive Dave's favorite style clear cap and a breather mounted sideways so oil drips out??? How is this going to cool without any kind of shroud? I wouldn't let this Hack work on my Bicycle

I had all the same thoughts. A friend of a friend picked this thing up. I tried to explain to him that it was, ummmmmm, not good?

I don't think it's a FI intake. It's a type 4 progressive intake with the manifolds hacked to fit Type 1. I bet it runs cool.

Actually it's a Type 3 progressive intake, and will outFLOW a T1 setup by far. (I've thought many times about boosting throught the T3 proggy intake that i have) No good if it doesn't stay cool though! And yes, turn the breather so the "top" is up.

Put a type 3 shroud and fan on it. Or dual carbs with a Type 1 fan.
I think Patrick must be right.

Jerry...that's an engine...motors are for blenders! Ask Madmike. Yes, it's an alright setup for a T3, if you're into progressives.

And I suppose this engine makes sooo much more power because it breaths better with no air filter. Works great off road! And what is that on the right hand side. An alternator from a mystery-mobile jery-rigged into place? Honest though, I have to give props to the guy for trying. Unfortunately it didn't help his engine any. OOPS

I guess some guy had this thing forever and got sick of it being around so he kinda let this other guy have it. The guy who has it now has zero clue about anything VW air cooled at all. Apperently he wants to make it a street legal parts runner for his shop. Hopefully hes going to get a bunch of other parts with it that I can get some stuff out of,cause I like parts! The rail is kinda cool for what it is but will need a TON of work to be road ready. The harness was more sketchy on it that mine is! It has really cool diamond patteren seats in it but thay are ripped
