Went for the second drive in the Pig of Plastic for the season.

Remember how I had mentioned that the Gas Gauge didn't work...

Guess what? I put a few gallons of gas in the car to bring it home...went for a short drive to top the tires up, etc. Came home...on the way to the gas station to get a full tank...

Ran out of gas...

With Dorothy in the car...

Had to have a neighbor come pick us up...

$hit!!!

Got three gallons of gas. Went and filled the car up.

Now the gas gauge works fine.

Moral of the story...if your gas gauge does not work, run the car out of gas. May fix the sender...

Hey Dave,Maybe us 'Bus Driver' should try this? Not many of the buses gas gauges WORK Mine worked for one day even after I pulled and cleaned the sender as per 'TheSamba 'Fix'

I would say that my float assembly is problematic. I am going to pull it out and look at it soon...

The Puma's float is not accurate at all...if you can see gas in the tank up to the neck, it only shows 3/4 full.

Dave, is your gauge adjustable? Mine has a setting knob on the back. Though it is all mechanical.

Mine's electrical. I am certain the sending unit just needs adjustment.

I would like to say that it's because it's really difficult to get to on the Pig of Plastic.

Sadly, I can't.

It's held in place by five bolts, and it is probably the easiest thing to get at on the car...open the front hood, and there it is, right on top.

Mine kinda goes from full full to middle to empty awfully quick. If I see any movement I get gas Immediately.
