Hi guys, new to the forum. I have a 78 Bus and it's time to fix it up! I'm not too much of a 'car guy' so I'm struggling as to what's going on...
My bus will start up and run but once it gets hot and it's shut off, it won't start back up. When it's cooled down, it'll start up again.
I'm in Farmington, MI and I'd like to take it to someone and get it fixed up so I can take the family up North for a camping trip near the end of the Summer! HELP PLEASE!!
I've owned this Bus (Wilson) since 96. I love it very much. It was my everyday driver from 96 through 99 and since has rarely been driven. It really deserves to be back on the road.
THANKS! -rob

Sound like vapor lock to me. Check all your fuel lines, new ethanol fuel is very hard on rubber lines, make sure they are not near a heat source. Is this engine still fuel injected or has it been coverted to carb?

Is there by chance a meatle fuel filter installed. These will collect heat and cause vapor lock. Check to make sure its not need any heat source. Oh ya by the way. I did a test years back when E85 first hit the market. I soaked various rubber seals and gaskets in both E85 and regular gas and the gas was harder on the rubber then the E85. Ethonal gets a very bad rap from the haters. The haters will tell ya that ethonal is corrosive when its the water that's corrosive. Yes, ethonal has a bad habit of collecting water but then again so does gas, have you ever heard of a product called dry gas?
