What about tapping the block off plate for the T3 dipstick instead? Or are you definitely needing it to be in the spot you are showing?
I can't remember where the oil sender in my 71 bug is located, but I know the case has the mounting holes for a moustache bar. I think it had a U code stamped in the top of the block, but I could be wrong. It definitely doesn't have a generator stand number. If need be I can ask my dad to look.

Oil pressure has to come off of the pressurized oil system. Just tapping into the case won't work.
It would be best to use the original, type 3 location, and re-route old wires to the new location. It would not be very German for them to put multiple oil-pressure locations in an original block.
