Sounds like we will have very strong Good Volks representation at this show! While there we need to encourage the MVVC to drive to our side of the state for the Bug Run's!

Hey guys-- you probably already know this by now-- but it was news to me when I got on I-94 yesterday to go home from work and it took me an hour and 45 minutes to get from Exit 92 (Ft. Custer) to the I-194 penetrator at the BC mall. (all of about 4 miles). I-94 is closed and will be closed for some time while they fix the Riverside Dr. underpass, which has shifted or something and become a crisis. The whole area around the mall, Beckley Rd., Capital Ave., etc. was a mess! You guys might want to steer clear of all of that, maybe take Michigan Ave out of Battle Creek or come south on I-194 and get on I-94 east just before the mall. Maybe you should meet up at the Ti Khi Truck Stop or something.
But come to the festival anyway. We've got some great auction items ready. Besides the usual VW-related stuff, we've got a high-end battery charger-"smart" maintainer, a $227 Odyssey AGM battery (no more corroded floor pans!), and a custom portrait of YOUR car, done either relistically or as a cartoon, by John Jaranson, the instigator of the imfamous Type 3 Invasion. See you guys in Plymouth! -John Deikis

What do you all think? Should we move our meeting place? Probably a good idea.

Here is where we are going to meet. New meeting time is 7:30am. Getting on and off the highway here should be much simpler. Remember, if you are going through Battle Creek on I-94 to allow some extra time for the detour.

Finished the Puma, with the exception of the interior window scrapers. The new ones are too wide, and don't fit, so they don't go on.
In the four years I have owned her, I have never ever seen the interior with both door panels on, and it is much, much better. The windows go up and down, and I'm happy.
I'll be leaving Perry, MI between 6:30 and 7:00 tomorrow morning, so I'll see everyone there. There will also be a Puma coupe coming from Canada...talked to the guy this evening.

Yep, my car made it home too. Lot's of drops of oil between here and Plymouth. Nice lake of oil at the quarter car wash too. Thanks to all that helped with my oil problem.
Dan, thanks for the photos and thanks for passing out the Bug Run flyers! It was nice to not be the one doing that this year.
What did everyone think of this new venue for the Vintage Festival? I really liked it myself.

Strangly enough I didnt take any pics of the swap spot. I liked the location of the event. It was one of the better vw shows Ive ever been to. Im hoping the 131 event will be so good! I was ok handing out the flyers but was slightly uncomfortable doing it with some cars and one dude did call me out on it Luckily Im used to dealing with difficult people (work) Anyway being the FNG it was a valid job (ie trial) I hope I did ok. I actually sold a stereo that I just took out of my bug (upgraded) and the speaker box. I have more crap to unload but thats another thread and another time. Dan

Good work on the flyers Dan,
Its always an uncomfortable job especially when people try to blame you for something you have no control over.
