Not crazy about spending money on my own bender and looking for some options. I've decided sand, a torch and my back are not options.
Can someone fill me in on places where I can start asking about bending services. I have no idea who would own mandrel benders but I either need to find someone who can do them for reasonable price or start saving for my own bender. If anyone has a particular place near Holland, Grand Rapids, or Grand Haven and want to share, I'm interested.
I'm going to need to have custom bends made in 1-1/2" tube for my buggy and strength and appearance are important to me. It'll be an as I build I figure out the next bend I need type of deal. So driving all over hell with tube in my little Sunfire every other day is out. lol I really don't think I'll find anything convenient. Maybe saving is my best option...

My first choice would also be Paul. My second would be Mark Pushard Welding and Fab, Red Arrow Highway, Mattawan. Then most any muffler shop though the appearance and strength may play a role there??

Is Bangor close to me?? lol guess I should look...
edit: nope thanks, and mattawan is even further. I keep coming to these dead ends. Wish I could use a supporter but there just doesn't seem to be a practical solution in my area. I'm going to look for chassis shops maybe... I don't know..

There is a race car/fab shop on Phoenix in South Haven. The guy that bends tube for me is in Hastings. The equipment most muffler shops use will not bend roll bar tube

Good luck with $pectrum! I contacted them while building Blu. I wanted a simple 4 point cage cut and bent, I would weld. They quoted me $500 for the tubing and bends!

I know the guy that owns Spectrum Sandsports. He is a great guy, but going there to get tubbing bent...no. He would much rather rather build a killer a-arm long travel than bend a couple pieces of tubing...
Most metal fabrication shops should have a tubing bender. Do you have a son or daughter in highschool shop class? Hahaha. I know that has been done before. I did that for someone while I was in high school. Wrote it off as practice bending tubes.
