Merry Christmas to all GoodVolks!
Been a little exciting here in Bugtussle, a.k.a Perry. Our neighborhood looks like a war zone. Hundreds of fallen trees, etc. We have a generator, so at least we had water and heat, and both refrigerators worked.
Got power back, but it died again Christmas day for 12 hours. We have power again. More importantly, we have internet again!
Dorothy's oldest son, Greg, got a couple of cool decals, and a scarf from Nurburgring. Yup, THAT Nurburgring.
He had to be in Germany for a couple of weeks for TRW, so he arranged to spend a little time at Nurburgring. While he was there, he went around the track in a "taxi" driven by a "taxi driver". Apparently, the Germans have a bit of a sense of humor about them, because the "taxi" is a BMW M3 with a V8, and the "taxi driver" was a very accomplished race car driver.
Greg took a movie of the entire lap, and there were a number of Porsches, lots of sporting Audis, and VWs, even a couple of Ferraris and a Bugatti!
Nobody came close to passing the BMW, and it was really quite funny to hear the driver cuss out some slow Audis that would not pull to right so he could pass.
The moral of the story being, a V8 BMW is REALLY fast, and it is even faster, when driven by a professional race car driver.
