How much of a pain is it to have someone re-gear a transmission for a closer ratio 3rd and 4th? Also, about how much would it cost, if you had to guess? And to add a 4 spider gear diff?

How much pain is it to open your wallet??? (rofl ,,Years of Knowledge and tooling,plus the fact the hubs need to be welded to the gear so they don't spin,steel shift forks need to be installed too,,Takes me a whole day to build one if I have all the parts  I have a built IRS on the shelve for $795. all the best parts and a 4 gear Super Diff too  and I'm still looking for the push rod for u  |

Thanks Mike, I am still dreaming about transmissions, weather I want to keep the type 1 long term or not. It is a good stock box from a driving car...just not sure how it will like some gnarly trails and bigger tires. Right now I am leaning towards running it until something blows...then get a 5rib like you suggested once. Unless of coarse someone wants to trade me for a decent bus transmission they have sitting around right now  Funny, that little push rod. It always seems to be evading you. Hahaha |
