Hey all, still fairly new to the area but I'm looking for someone to help me out with a repair on my front beam (5" narrowed without shock towers). I've been working to get my car ready for my wedding coming up next month (Oct. 25th) - crawled under the front end and DID NOT expect to see this: In Grand Rapids and would be more than willing to cruise it out to anyone within an hour who has a welder and would be able to weld this up for me. Happy to compensate time with a 6pack or case of your favorite beer!! If that doesn't work, name your price. I'll be pulling it tonight, can anyone help this weekend?! -Brian 330.310.323(zero) bfalther@gmail.com

Brian, before I commit to fixing this beam, can you PM me some more pictures. I want to see where it is broken, and what it would take to fix it. Thanks,Paul

Alright so I'm going to make the executive decision to toss this beam. Worse than I initially thought and I'd much rather go with a fresh beam that hasn't been cut and re-welded! Thanks Paul for your willingness to help out, but I'm going to take the safer route.

Brian, a new beam sure looks like a wise choice. I would not have welded that for my own use,let alone for someone else's use.

Come to the bug run Sunday. Probably could find a new beam there.

Not sure where that beam came from, or who built it, but, that is obviously not the way to do it! The mounting brackets must be cut off and material taken from the center of the top and bottom tubes, where the adjusters or set screws are, then the brackets welded back on in the correct spot. then there are no weight bearing welds on the tines themselves. That's a lot to ask of two welds hanging out there in the breeze! Not to mention the forces applied when corned or when hitting a bump. Did it hurt the spring packs? Bent? Good luck with it!

Thanks Paul for your willingness to help out, but I'm going to take the safer route. Are you looking for a stock width beam or narrowed? I have a good used German stock part available. If you need a narrowed one, we are traveling through VA soon and might be able to help transport one of these www.valleyautowerks.com/apps/webstore/. Pm me if you're interested, or look me up at the Bug Run
