Some of you know from Face Book, I the bone head, took a nose dive down the basement stairs Wednesday evening. From the top down about 6 steps landing head down on my hip/back side then rolled all the way to the basement floor, hitting my head on the floor, knocking myself out for 10 mins or so. Well made my way back up the stairs in a crab crawl to my recliner where I sat until Karen got home. Decided not to go to the ER until Thursday afternoon. 7 hours later found I didn't break the hip(something I was sure I did) Brain scan MRI, CT scan of the abdomen, chest and pelvis, x rays of wrist, ankle and both knees, we left Bronson and came home(with drugs). This afternoon got my buddy the **%#^ brace for 2 to 6 months, at first thinking it was a 24/7 deal, found out later just when I'm upright. No driving for at least 2 weeks, no riding in a car for more then a 1/2 hour, No running(what a joke!), no stairs(another joke) and assisted walking only(crutch or cane) for the next 2 weeks. Thoracic compression fracture is all they found.

Doc's appointment this afternoon. No driving/riding in Ruffuss for at least another month. Yes on the Brace when upright and moving for another month. Yes I can ride in the PT for no more then an hour, if longer then a 15 minute break between. So Holland and Grand Haven and off to the cottage we go??? Going down to the farm tomorrow for a test run(Karens driving) and check stuff out. I can even drive an automatic for short runs(15 minutes or less). Back never hurt that bad it's was and still is the right hip?? when I overdo. For the most part been following Docs orders to a T.
