I should have started this when I started the project. Here's a short pictorial of her progress. Just purchased. October 2012: It fits! I spent a good bit of the fall fixing little things as they cropped up. First, the transmission (automatic) would puke fluid out the dipstick when ever it was driven more than a mile. The oil would pour right on the exhaust and smoke like crazy. Turns out that mud wasps clogged the vent on top of the trans so the only place for the air to expand was out the dipstick. Easy fix but took a while to find. Right after fixing that, I took it for a test drive an blew a radiator hose (just a loose clamp). More than a mile from home (2 miles): Washed all the curtains and replaced the brittle plastic hooks with metal ones in preparation for the first camping trip (Warren Dunes State Park, MI) June 2013: I had been fighting the fuel injection and timing, until 2 of the cylinders quit running. Finally gave up and took it to someone. Fuel injectors clogged up. Too much $$ later it runs good now! Since it runs good, time to work on the interior: Ground some of the rusty spots, found a good match of touch up paint, and installed the bumper caps. Starting to look respectable. August 2013, first long distance camping trip. 350 miles round trip to Muskegon State Park, MI: I've been driving her to work nearly everyday without issue since then. It's amazing how much fun it is to drive something so slow.

Nice! Always had trouble timing those buggers. If you go by the book they really run like poop. Nice interiors though and nice ride. But EPICALLY slow!

I made some wire bales to hold my 6x9s. The bales push back into the kick panel when I move the speakers for tunes at the camp site.

I've been fighting a starting problem all summer. Went through every connection from the alternator to the battery with no luck. It would start if I put it on the charger so I assumed it was a charging problem. Turns out a 30 year old starter doesn't just completely quit all at once. It just requires more voltage to engage the solenoid. New starter, problem seems to be solved.

Where did you get the starter and how much did it cost?
