Dave and I were talking the other day, and the topic of infrequent use tools came up. Dave was wanting a pair of the jigs for putting IRS brackets on swingaxle torsions. Any imput on getting CLUB TOOLS FOR LOAN together? Possibly centrally locate them at some ones shop? Then if someone wanted to use them they would "SIGN" them out, AND be responsible for their return. Any tools DONATED to club would be property of club, for everyones use. Maybe even a small donation{$5} to a fund to buy more tools? We could put together a list of desired tools so everyone could keeep an eye out at swaps,CL,garagesales, and auctions. Just thinking outloud, lets hear YOUR thoughts.

Sounds like a plan to me. I've also entertained the idea of a "use it when you need it car hauler/trailer" for club use. Where is Central though? "Core" group central or extended group central? Whatever, it needs to be a simple plan.

Central location is the question? I am looking for PRO AND CON ideas. As far as a trailer I have a nice 20' that I will loan out to club members, but a ways out of the way for most of you{Michigan}. I always accept donations of Natty light. ;D ;D {I always share ,too!}

Steven, Bren and I all have modified T trailers that have been used by club member(really not big enough for a Bus) but have been used to haul a couple(ask AJ). I'm bidding on a long bed snowmobile(4 /6 place, dual axle) trailer, I was thinking about converting to a car hauler/multi purpose trailer (That's the plan).

Great idea. Little things like flywheel doweling jig could loaned out with a deposit that covering replacement cost plus the donation. Precision machining equipment might be too much setup each time it is moved. But a gas driven welder,air compressor might cover most needs. A club type 2 base utility/repair truck would be the ultimate if we were lottery winners. The club could do demonstrations at events, offer help friendly racers.
Who wants to take my donation through paypal to get this started?
