The weirdest things do happen with these bugs... We didn't cut the grass on the side of the house all season, and I think one of the kids left an old hot wheel bug laying around (VW seed), and it grew, now look at the weed that it grew into..

I pulled into the Kentucky welcome rest stop and the other bug pulled in next to me. He had just bought it at a hot rod show in Tenn.
Not much of a plan yet. Need to determine if it is not too far gone for my capabilities. It's pretty rusty for a southern car. But not as bad as Airehead's 'vert. We've been talking about a tropical theme with bambo and tiki heads in the interior. Or I might trade it for a Thing or Westy.

The 'vert needs a new pan (and title). Somebody cut a giant hole in the tunnel to fix a shifter bushing or clutch tube. I think they used a tire iron and ball pean hammer to cut the hole. This weakened the tunnel which then cracked 50% around the tunnel. The passenger side of the rear torsion tube is actually pushed up though the rusty panel under the rear seat causing that wheel to be a low-rider. Good news is the body is still structurally sound enough that the doors close with even gaps. By they way, I found out it is a '65 not a '66. How did they get a ball joint beam on a link pin frame?...... A drill and a big hammer. Don't tell a redneck something can't be done.
