Well for one thing it will make me feel better about my bucket Also I like westies. Im hoping you pimp out the inside. I just like the d**n things. Though if I was to do it again (had a 71 bay) Id need to put a big honkin engine in it as mine was stupid slow though it handled really really well.

Sunday May 3 I officially start on the Bus. Yea the Ghia is not done but I can drive it. Are they ever finished? First things first I need to clean the garage then play musical Volkswagens. After that I will finish my gas tank install. Then I was thinking of assembling the Bus engine more. If I get ambitious I may fix the burnt electrical issue in the engine compartment.
It all depends on how tired I will be after the Saturday drive.

Well I have been installing tin and accessories on the Bus engine and messing with the burnt wiring. Also been running into problems.
First I have nasty rear tail light housings and I am going to need replacements (Used)
I will need headlight buckets and one special screw for the front turn signal lenses. (Used)
I am also missing some tin. The farthest rear tin and the little bits that surround the heat risers. For he rear tin I need the one that matches the Ghia. With 2 large holes on the right and one large hole on the left. I will take pictures of the Ghia tin that I need.

I will check on the tail light housings I replaced in my bus I think the only reason I used the new ones was because they were chromed inside and lit up better. If I can find the old ones you can have them Steve

Wow what a response I was going to start a want ad today but I don't have to now thanks.
Steve71westy both of my bulb holders were held to the mounting bracket with very old twine and both of the mounting bracket were cracked and warped. So if your old ones are better than mine I will take them. I can always use silver paint to clean up the reflector. Also I am missing one lens screw for the tail lights do you have that too?
Bren yes thats the tin I need but whats the little hole on right near heat riser tube hole?
dansam Interior picts? Its just a empty Bus. Currently right now the inside is used for storage. How about this when I finally get it running and clean it out I will take better pictures of both the interior and exterior.
Almost forgot anyone have some J-Tubes the ones that I have are about 1" to short?

Well I have been busy this week because Wifey worked late every day this week. That equals garage time for me. I have finished my gas tank installation had to remove it 3 times to get it right. I have replaced some of the engine electrical wires that were burnt like the +coil wire and the Oil Pressure sending unit wire.
My engine is 95% complete ready for install. I really hope I can get the Bus running this weekend. If I don't run into to many problems I will be doing my victory lap this weekend.
After the motor I will be chasing electrical issues and brakes, I am hoping that brakes will just need the rubber lines replaced, adjusted and bled. Remember the brakes work now just not perfect.

I spent All day Saturday installing the engine and stuff with Steven's help. Cranked it over a few times and got some popping out of the carb. After a swift kick to the back of the bus from me I was done. Off to Steven's where we installed his motor back into the 63 Beetle. Darkness fell so no vroom vroom from either VW's
Today I set forth to figure out the Bus problem. Yep I found it 1-2 plug wires were switched. After a little fuel down the carb the bus came to life and ran until the carb emptied of fuel. Yep bad fuel pump. After trying 4 more pumps (all installed in the bus) all are bad with no fuel reaching the carb. I have plenty of fuel from the tank to the fuel pump I just don't have a good fuel pump.
Once again a swift kick from me to Bus helped to relieve frustration. Once I find a good fuel pump I can do my victory lap around the apartment. It will not be today could be tomorrow or the next day.
Good news is that the head lights work at least some thing does on my Rusty Bus.
