I am thinking about Color Tour 2012 already and one thing that I am planing on is a break with a restroom.

Just keep in mind that next years date is the weekend of October 13-14 of 2012.

Last year we had fun driving to Das Dutchman Essenhaus in Middlebury IN but I made a mistake and forgot to include a bathroom break. This year I made sure to have a bathroom break.

2012 has been a very busy year for Wifey and I we saved our pennies for a full year and purchased a nice house closer to my work. To achieve our goal we kind of disappeared for a bit, but now is our time to say thanks for putting up with us.

The 2012 GoodVolks ColorTour is about 75% complete right now and I will fill you in with the details.

Here is the current plan.

The 2012 GoodVolks ColorTour will be held on Saturday October 13th 2012. I have not yet figured out what time of day yet but I am thinking after lunch.

Last years meeting place seemed to work well and was easy to find so this years it will start at the same place at 1:00pm

Galesburg Exit 85 from I-94 35th Street. There is a McDonalds and the Gas Station just north of the Freeway.

The plan is to drive through the countryside and wooded areas to eventually end up at the Historic Bridge Park of Calhoun County.

And yes the Park has really nice NEW restrooms.

We can stay at the park as long as we would like there are paved walking trails to see all the old bridges and even a playground for the kiddies. I am guessing a cool photo opt might be in order too.

Then with more driving through the countryside we will end up at our (new to us) house. The plan is to funnel the VW's into the back yard and have a private VW Car Show. Where we are planning to have campfire with hotdogs and smores for everyone. There will be lots of pop/soda, water and maybe a crock-pot full of chili. If you want to bring and share a large bag or your favorite chips there will be chips for everyone.

If you have any thoughts of yard games or activities to play or bring let me know. Also bring your foldable chairs if you would like a place to sit (we don't own enough for everyone)

Stay as long as you would like even camping out in the back yard is fine. Wifey and I might camp too in the bus if other people camp too. We do have 1 large tent if needed.

Keep in mind that we do have a very sweet medium sized dog named Jack who might also enjoy the festivities in the back yard too. He can be a little skid-ish at first with new people but just give him time.

Wifey and I have been kicking thoughts of this years ColorTour for about a year now and we are getting excited and looking forward to it so lets have fun.

Looks like an early Autum this year up here,my maple trees are turning red already and the leaves are falling off some prolly NO Leaves by Oct 13th up here on the Polar Equator ;D

My wife and I hope to be doing the Color Tour again this year. I'm scheduled to be 'on-call' for work, but hope to find someone to cover me. We had a great time last year; AJ did a fantastic job.

Tracy and I were just talking about the color tour this morning. It has been like 4 years since we made a color tour, and that was in the Ghia. Now that Ruby is running well, there's a good chance we will make it. (Wish the convertible was drivable)

I am hopping that starting at 1:00pm gives people a chance to grab a bite to eat somewhere before the trip. FYI there is a McDonalds across the street from the meeting place but it can get busy there at lunch time.

The Supper Meal is HotDogs / Chili / Smores / Roasted Marshmallows / Pop

My Grandma is fixing the Chili the HotDogs / Smores / Marshmallows are cooked by everyone on the open fire.

Pop will be cold in the cooler.

If everyone could bring their favorite large bag of chips and share we will have plenty.

If you have roasting sticks it might be a good idea to grab them too. I currently have only 4 so if no one brings any it might take a long time to share.

Also bring your foldable chairs if you would like a place to sit (we don't own enough for everyone)

I also plan on having Horse Shoes set up if people want to play.
