My new generation VeDubber in training. Today's lesson for my 15 year old VeDubber was brakes. She did awesome and now can rebuild calipers and change her own brake pads. (She also installed new exchanger to body channel flex heat ducts preparing for winter today. )

Very cool! Glad to see you're passing on the skills & hobby. Your daughter is very fortunate and will be the envy of the others her age who only know how to turn the key & ask dad for gas money.

Thanks.. I'm proud of the daughter. What I think is so funny, is she has three grown brothers, and any of them don't even know where to put oil in a car, lol.. I have always have VWs, and other hot rods around building and working on them, and my sons while they were growing up had no interests in working on any of them with me. But my daughter came around and she has always been by my side anytime I was turning a wrench. I remember back when she was only 2, and sitting upright under my 30 Ford, and me laying on my back, with her handing me tools, and banging on the rear end with a wrench, lol..

That's awesome that you have such a strong bond with her. she really got into that brake job, I thought she was a little kid sitting inside the fender for a second! Lol

lol.. Well, she's 15, but she's a little gal, with a HUGE personality, lol. She fit inside the wheel well prefectly, but wasn't just sitting, she pulled, rebuilt and re-installed the calipers... She has always been pretty handy to have around for sure.. . And she loves to do her own work on her car. She takes great pride in ownership that many kids today don't have. She takes shop classes in high school that most girls run away from. She welds, does metal fabrication, and now getting into electrical stuff as well. She has also been a huge help in the renovation of our old home doing carpentry, tile work, plumbing, electrical, and you name it. Not much this little gal can't do..
