Here is what I am doing to the daughter's 69 bug we named "Scarab". I made a dash panel out of PVC sheet, took apart a TomTom GPS, and installing the touch screen panel, and GPS electronics behind the dash. When it's done, the daughter will never be able to tell me she is late, because she got lost.. The panel will be textured, and painted to match the bug when it's all done, and ready to install in the dash.

I agree Dan.
I have one that is in the phone, and it does not require an internet connection to work. it's like a Garmin. They updated the software, and it's now improved, but totally different. The old one had a really easy way to save where you parked the car...
The new software does too, but I did not take the time to figure it out.
I went to Birch Run to pick up a few things for Baltimore, but I was certain I would remember where my car was parked...
Well, one thing led to another, and after several hours and a lot of packages, I found out that I DIDN"T know where the car was!
Birch Run is a REALLY big place, and I saw most of it.
Finally found the car after an hour or so.
I learned how to use the parking utility on the GPS software when I got home...

My lost car horror story was years ago, not only did I forget where I parked the car, but it was also a loaner car because my truck was in the shop. I couldn't remember what kind of car I was driving, couldn't even remember the color. Got some funny looks from the security when I couldn't describe the car I was looking for.. lol

That's a great idea! I'd like to see the finished product.
