Everyone please use caution when dealing on CL, Samba, Ebay, etc.!!
We have been selling off some parts and stuff we either don't need, want or don't have room for. Had a guy contact us about some parts(Thing) and contact and contact. Had been going on for about a month. Finally the party sends a check made out to me, drawn on a California Bank, wanting me cash it, pay the shipper(of his choseing) and keep what was left as payment, plus a hundred dollars for the trouble. Trouble is it's a long running Scam.
I thought I smelt a rat? E-mail address from one State, ship to another and a bank in another. All addresses were checked good by the Post office. So took it to the bank, they contacted the bank it was drawn on and SURPRIZE! it is NOT a bank, NO good, A Scam. Fraud.
I then took the info back to the Post office and filed a mail fraud case against the sender, shipper. The Post office contacted the mail police? and FBI.
This is just a warning to all the VW family to be careful who and what you deal with. There is BS all over the place use caution! Use your head don't let a buck profit get you into trouble.

I had a friend who had a collection of phony checks from people like that. He would make them jump through all kinds of hoops and waste their time before agreeing to the deal, then just keep the check (un cashed) and not send the product. Nobody ever complained that he did not ship.

The Postal Service told me NOT to contact, e-mail, answer any questions from him or any of his agents(shipper) and don't file any complaints against him until they finished their investigation. I want this crap to end and teach them DON'T screw with DUNN!
