This isn't volkwagen, but I figure everybody would get a kick out of these pictures. The story: My friend and I were driving on the highway and we spotted...... At which point we gave chase...... Until we finally caught it. (Gave the guy a BIG thumbs up) ;D Kirby

"Mule trim" means test mule, The car companies have to test the new pre-production vehicles in real world situations and they have to take alot of abuse. The odd paint job is applied to the vehicle to make new details and changes of the outside of the car difficult to make out. The paint helps to distract the eye from the smaller, changed, details of the vehicle. Seeing mule cars is usually a rare site and getting a close up shot, like the last one, is extremely rare. That makes sense, from the pics it doesn't look any different than the current mustangs. I guess thats the point though. We must really be stuck on vw's because nobody picked up on that.

I wounder if someone dressed a perfect example of pick any year beetle like the mustang in mule trim. I wounder if we could determine what year it was by picking out the fine details.

I could do it, Beetles are easy. And the Mustang has a slightly more sloped forward and shorter headlight/grill area and what look like a little different tails. The front looks Camaro Conceptish.

We have cars like that all the time for testing . Some on the back of tow trucks under a tarp . One showed up in a cargo container on a semi and the driver freaked that there was a car in there , and we had to do a Nascar type thing to get in the car to drive it out .
