I went out to get a 2nd look at an Oval shell that is or was in the area I stopped by last fall . Drove by slow didn't see it in the yard so I pulled in the next driveway on the other side of the road . Deep at the end of the drive is sitting a Bay window Bus .
I had to get out and knock on the door . no one home , but a good old Boy came around the barn on a tractor . Asked about the Bus and got to take a look . What I found is a 1969-70 Bay Window Panel with NO slider door and a Sun roof / Moon roof over the cab area not in the center of Bus , The guy said he thinks the front may have been lowered. No motor or tranny does have title & keys been settin for 5 years or so . It almost at first look drop in motor & tranny then may be able to drive on the road . Maybe .

The sun roof is crazy! Looks factory from the outside, and real shade tree on the inside. Odd way to hold it in. Anyway its so rare to find a panel. Its VERY cool. Wuddathay want for it? It needs to be saved! Did they come with NO rear doors at all?? How would you have access to stuff??? I would say get it running and gut and update the interior. You have to ask yourself what is under that "flat" floor  you know there is a ton of space under that floor being used to hide what... Lots of options when you have that much room to work with problem is with no doors it would be a bugger to get stuff in there except in pieces. Would make a nice camper I guess. Did you find out where the oval got "scrapped" to? It may not be to late to save at least the roof. |

The Oval is gone  . As for the panel ;D ;D ;D This one WILL be mine soon . I have ideas on the inside , but its the outside that got me going as for ideas . I have been wanting a Panel so bad to put a logo on the sides to advertise ( rent space ) then start hitting car shows or just drive into town after town and show off . Like Maybe THE BUG RUN having the Logo match the T-shirts or the fliers or something like that . What do ya-all think about that idea ? |

A bay panel is on alot of peoples WANT/DREAM list, obviously it was on Glens list also. He gets to check it off his list and the rest of us will have to keep searching.  |

Take a look at the engine area on the left hand side just below gas tank . I see a set of flair nut fittings , is this for an AC unit hook up ?  |

that is a cool find but looks like they just filled in the windows to make it a pane you can see the heat marks from where they tacked in the sheet metal then just skimmed the whole thing w/filler.l sorta reminds me of this bus i just found that is actually a standard microbus...already hammer and chiseled out the window openings on this bad boy..   nothin like huntin vws in the spring |

Hey Glenn. Yes, the lines are for A/C or maybe some home brew type oil cooler? Its amazing how good the engine compartment looks!
