Discussion started with a 1600 series, but we soon figured out that this won't work as we all have a different starting point and different desires, so we are going to have a bracket racing series. This is intended to be a next step from the Drag Days events we have had with the same goals in mind: Showing US131 Motorsports Park and its officials our appreciation for the events they provide for us by running down the track just for fun.
This is a best 3 out of 5 series. One of the 3 events you count must be a Bug Run.
HOW IT WORKS:
1) We will have our series record keeper (Dubfreak1) register participants for that day during the first hour that the track is open for competition.
2) Participants will provide a dial in time to the record keeper within the first two hours that the track is open for competition.
3) The participant will give the record keeper a timeslip within the first three hours that the track is open for competition.
4) Time slips and dial in times will be used to determine a "virtual race" finishing order for that event. First place is 1 point, 2nd is 2 points, etc. At the end of the series the participant with the lowest number of points wins. Lowest total reaction times will be used as a tie breaker.
RACE DATES ARE:
Well, this is apparently not a good idea.
The series is officially dead due to lack of participation

Well the first one is in the books and I'm happy to report that THE FIX IS IN!!!!!!!
Results:
1st Rudy 2nd Bren 3rd Jeremy
Jeremy hadn't been on the track since 2009 and cut a .07 light on a 12.06 pass. Unfortunately, he had issues with the car and couldn't continue. With numbers like that, he is sure to be a force to be reckoned with in the future.
Bren and I both put our dial-in times a little slower than what we had run. Bren said that this might be the last drag event for the sandrail and wanted to get that illusive 13.xx with the fanbelt on. He soon gave up on running his number and kept going faster and faster. He went as fast as 14.10 on a 14.24 dial-in. He had a 14.36 that wasn't a breakout and had a .0468 reaction time on that run.
I got real close to my 17.31 dial-in with a 17.32 and had a .0734 reaction time on that pass. On another pass, the 68 had a .00 reaction time and this seemed like this would be THE ONE. I was afraid of going too fast and breathed the throttle just slightly before shifting to 4th. It was too much and that pass ended up being a 17.40
We had a lot of fun and it was nice to have some kind of format that we were trying to meet. The format could be better, however. It would be nice to have a format that rewarded going faster. We have publicized this method and will stay with it for this year. It is probably a good simulation of bracket racing, but that may not be what we want to do in the future. We will see how it all works out and what the competitors think over time.

It sure was good to get back on the track again. It was also good to see Rudy, and Bren again. I sure wish my poor ol' car could have handled the pass. I sure was hopeing to see an 11.xx pass. I have my work cut out for me the next few weeks, but I do intend to get out for more of these events. Thanks guys for your help. It was REALLY appreciated.

Wish I could have made it, I was sad to see that my oil leak was a little more serious than push rod tube seals. I got it all back in and together today along with my new Scat linkage for the Kadrons. Hope to make the next round

Next event is the Bug Run this weekend. For our series it does not matter if you are running fun runs or the competition classes, just sign up, state your dial-in, and run your number
