FRANKENMUTH AUTOFEST 2012

Sept. 7-9 2012 is the date of the Autofest carshow in Frankenmuth, a German- themed town. My wife and I went to this show about 5 years ago (without a classic car) on a Friday and stayed over for Saturday's big carshow. It continues on Sunday also. I was very impressed by the size and variety of the show. On Friday night they shut down the main road in downtown just for show car parking. We stayed at the Baymont Inn near Flint, which is a 15-20 minute drive to downtown Frankenmuth. Anyway, we have booked a room at the same Baymont Inn as before and this time I am taking my VW bug for the Friday night show and the Saturday show. If anyone is interested in a group thing lets hear about it. The hotel is very nice with lots of restaurants and shopping nearby and far enough away from Flint to make it easy to navigate. It sits on the west side of I-75 just one block from exit and entrance ramps, very convenient. If you want to be closer to Frankenmuth, you need to reserve well in advance. Well I live in frankenmuth so if you need any help with anything be sure to ask. I may enter the show this year though its really more of a hot rod show there are usually 5 or so vw's If you want a more vw centric show I throw a vw only show during october fest. Ill see you either way. I dont have to work the show this year (a first) so Im thinking of entering it depending on what else is going on.

Your Octoberfest show is in Frankenmuth as well? I know it's a long ways away but will you be posting this show on the website? I was just thinking about the German theme of Frankenmuth and how appropriate the bug would be at the show. If there's that few of them there, it should get a lot of attention. Thanks for your input.

Well the Frankenmuth Bavarian festival VW show is this weekend. Cassie will be running the event sat 9-5 and I'll be there Sunday. Hope some of you can come out and have some fun. It ought to be a nice weekend weather wise. Ally will be in attendance as I'll park it in its spot Friday. Sounds like the barn bus may make an appearance as well. There has been some buzz on MVVC's site about te show so I am Hopin on some good turnout this year. Hope to see you at the event!! Any questions just ask.

Ill be at the show today. Hope to see some of you down there. Parade starts at 1pm. So Ill be down at the show at 10am till 1130 or so then will set up for the parade and then after the parade is over 3pm will be back at the show.

I just hate to see a nice bug/buggy/baja, with crap parts on them ::)He's telling me about it's for off-road and Bla-bla, and other then a lift it had stock suspenion and it was garageQueen CLEAN,That thing never saw a dirtroad!!! Bet I really Impressded him when my starter button decided not to work ;D ;D ;D at my age I call'em as I see'em Don't care if I piss the know-it-alls off,,I do try to help when people listen/what to learn,cuz like most o'l vw guys "Been there/Done that and got the T-shirt ;D ;D ;D
