That was too cool. I wish you could buy them in kit form for any year you want just assemble with new correct fitting pieces. I would buy one. just think a build your own VW for like 5,000 to 10,000 depending on options or year.
I would like to build a split window.
Just think every few weeks UPS drops off a new package today its the roof assembly next week its the deck lid.
It would be a mail order Beetle.

Crazy thing is you can almost do that today. Just buy the parts and assemble one though a lot of the parts require you to "find" them first, like a rolling chassis. Cost way more than 5K though  |

Some where some one must have a collection. I think we need to do some searching. I would buy a copy.
If you are going to dream, dream big. A Beetle kit car would be cool I did find a company that produced a fiberglass Ghia body once. They also built there own tube frame and mounted a mid engine Audi engine to it. I will have to look for the link.

There is a CD out there, I think its called..The Beetles, but its not the fab four, its a collection of VW engines sounds..
