FTC sent me a list of there inventory a while back and it shows that they have the 1.77 in stock, They show 8 of the large gears and 11 of the small gears. I think if you are hoping to get down the track without running out of gear early you will want to go all the way up to a 1.68, this gear is also in stock at FTC.
I run a 3.88 diff in my aluminum car and I think even with that I would run out of gear in an 1/8 mile running the 1.68 but that is as high as they offer.
Let me know if you come across anyone with the gear ratios I am looking for. Don

Nora Ross is who sent me there inventory but you will want to talk to Nancy Gordon
her email is Nancy.Gordon@AAPMFG.com I don't know her ext number.
Here is Nora's info
Nora Ross SHIPPING/RECEIVING CLERK & ORDER STATUS (Manufacturing Plans/Techniques/Prints/Work Orders) AMERICAN AIRCRAFT PARTS MFG. CO. 17917 MASONIC BOULEVARD FRASER, MI 48026 586-294-3300 EXT. 314 586-294-3330 FAX Nora.Ross@AAPMFG.com
Prices very from gear to gear so I don't know what they are going to want for the one your looking for. The one I want I think was $485 and that is why I am looking for a used set. The 2.85 comes with one of the gears machined into the shaft and that is why that one is so much.
Give them a call and keep us posted. Don

Hey here is the address to a man in Alabama I was emailing a while back. He had two gear sets for sale on The Samba and one was a 1.77 You may want to shoot him a message to see if he ever sold it. I do remember the price was cheap.

Check out custompowderkote.com for vinyl wrap. I don't know anything about them, but someone recommended them in Ally's Progress thread. They are in Linwood, which is near Bay City.
