What is the best thing you found in a car at the junk yard? Anything good?

Not in a car,But the whole thing  , a 64 std Bug in great shape  I swapped the owner of the local Yard for a brake job on his kids 4 wheeler($24.95) out of pocket and a cpl years later(I did have to build a 40hp motor for it) it was my DD, I sold it to VW HQ in Auburn Hills for $2500. I really shoud of kept it  but I paid off my house ;D,Madmike |

Probably not the best, but good. Went to a $25/all you can carry day and found an 091 six rib with starter and axles, and it was already out and sitting inside of bus!!!! ;D I'll keep thinking of the best, I love going to scrap yards.

Found a Ruger Model 1 in 308. caliber under the hood of a 66' bug I bought many moons ago. Later sold the rifle for $1200. as it turned out to be a limited addition John Wayne signed weapon and built the 66' into my hot rod Baja(which was back in the scrap yard cause I wrecked it).

Found a '74 SB in Goshen. TOTALLY rusted away, looked at the engine and it was an AH case. ;D Asked if he wanted to sell the complete engine and he said "For $150 I'll take it out and deliver it to your garage". I didn't have to think about it too long!  |
