I hate birthdays- sorry I need to vent

forget the getting old part, and its bad enough having to renew your plates on your birthday. Here's my birthday present. My license expires on my birthday (this saturday). I have an out of state license that needs to be transferred. So,l I find out, I need a birth certificate. Haven't had one of those for decades. So I need to get a copy. The QUICKEST way to get one is to order it online and fax the required info. This if of course with the expedited fee(about 60 bucks). Takes 15-22 days to process, THEN they overnight it to me (with a fee for overnight delivery of course). The other option, if I don't want to pay the 60 bucks to "speed" things up.... I wait 12-14 weeks for the processing.
So the beauty of it all, what does ohio say about this.... since my license it out of state, if it expires (even for a day), that I have to start over as a new driver. which means I wait my 15-22 days or 12-14 weeks, THEN I apply for a learners permit, then I have to take the written AND driving tests and pay all the associated fees.

Sounds like it would it be easier to renew the out of state and then swap to OH after the rest of the required documents arrive.

That's what I was thinking. So I called the dmv where I used to live. They said I would have to come in. No way to do it by mail or internet. So license in Kansas City or berth certificate in Jersey. Just gassed up outside of Cleveland. Guess where I am going lol
