Did some cutting on the body, pulled the beam, and polished one of my wheels, mounted one of my new rear tires.

ok, figured I should post my progress. As a few of you knew, I decided to turn Rocco into a street baja. I saw one online , a black bug eye that was almost sitting on the beam. I loved it. So, I got a hold of everything I needed to slam the bastard. At least the front for now. Picked up a one piece bug eye front end for it. But, sadly, it didn't look the way I wanted. In fact it looked pretty awful. The fenders on my one piece were REALLY high compared to the multi piece kits, so it looked STUPID with all the extra fender clearance. so... I went a different route..... The yellow headlight bucket, and yellow interior are temporary. And the front end is WAY too high. It's sitting on the jack right now :\ Jack is all the way down and the car is still sitting on it, LOL. So, if I get the jack out, it will drop the car another inch. Not to mention, I haven't put on Patrick's drop spindles yet either :]

Looks pretty good. The bug eye front end looks cool for a baja project! Love narrow eyes. Anyway, how did you get the front end moved forward?? Safely I hope?

thanks dansam, it looks better in pics than in person though. crappy gun, crappy primer, and spraying outside kinda windy. still have some body work to do in certain places. But I'm loving it. The front end was really simple to push forward, a couple u bolts around the beam and a pressure treated 2x8, stacked on top of ..... no wait, that's not how I did it I got one of these www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=967484except I got mine with only 5 degrees camber instead of the 8 that he usually makes them in.

You had me going on the pressure treated wood thing Id be interested in the baja thing except for two issues, 1. Im not making a baja anytime in the near future 2. I have no place to put it and make a shrine around it for 20 years or so It is cool though. Im surprised its still for sale. People love to cut up vw's in Michigan ! No biggie really.

Didn't feel like welding in the holes in the hood, and didn't want to buy a new chrome strip. So keeping with the planned south west theme
