I have heard it is easy to get a tile to a vehicle in Mi? I was told all you need is a bill of sale and vin numbers. They run numbers and issue a new title and send it to you.Is this true? Is this just for Mi residents? Any help would be appreciated, THANKS Rick.

Hi Rick, I can't speak for other states, but Michigan is fairly simple. If a Title isn't available; a Bill of Sale should work. I've done this on few occasions. The Michigan Secretary of State will review your particular request and will likely send the VIN out for verification of ownership or to see if it's on the stolen list.
Each state has its own rule set and its best to check before going forward. The 67 Beetle I purchased from Alabama didn't come with a Title (Alabama didn't issue titles before 1975). On the other hand; I bought a Honda CT70, no title (bill of sale only) from Ohio, and it took 6 weeks to get clearance to title/register it in Michigan.
