My friend Carlos has a Citation Tub that he wants to be fast so I came up with the idea of making it into a Street/Strip Buggy. Drop it down cage it and put a nice engine/trans combo in. I know there are alot more details than that but it should be fun turning.... This... Into something like this... But obviously we would want a windshield for street use.

That is awesome! But not very practical for racing.

I like the yellow one. However, I would want a roll bar in it before I would drive it.

Hey Dustin, When You guys get to working on the DragTub remember the Main thing is KEEP IT as LITE as possable,I don't care what king of racing it is, Its' all about the Power to Weight Ratio( I even have a quick detach Passenger seat ;D) little Oz.'s add up to lbs's,Madmike

The Buggy only weighs 1460lbs right now with the heavy top on it so I assume down to 1360lbs or so with the top off. It has a single hoop roll bar right now but that will be changed to something stronger and safer. I emailed A.J. Simms of Lowbugget.com and told him we would like to run 13s with the option to go faster. He suggested said we didn't need much to accomplish that with that Buggy like a mild 1776cc but he suggested a light 1915cc with low compression and gave a spec list with no comp. so we could turbo later.

I'm an O'skool N/A guy haven't done a turbo 'yet',I like a engine that will last(street friendly) and still have some compression say 10:1 so you can burn pump gas all week and race fuel on the wknds ;D I can do a spec sheet for u sometime if you like,I was real frugal on my 2332 buit it for less than $2000.Look for some Chromoly tubing for the cage It's waaaaay lighter ;D lose the wipermotor, bumpers, carpet if any,and those steel wheels whould be a good start,Madmike

Less than $2000 on a 2332cc sounds nice to me I would love to see a spec sheet. In order for it to be street legal you need the wipers don't you? They don't weigh that much. Also the heavy steel wheels will be gone as well as those crappy looking bumpers and heavy rear skid plate.
