2011 German Auto Service Open House and Car Show

Howdy Volks. We are having another open house this year at German Auto Service in Grand Rapids. We really appreciated the strong turn-out you guys had last year. This time should be bigger and better.

If you plan to participate please be sure to email me at [e-mail] to pre-register. Include your full name, email, make, model, year and color of your car.



Here are all the details:


On behalf of German Auto Service I would like to invite you to our third annual open house and car show. The event will take place on Saturday August 13th 2011 from 10:00am to 2:00pm at our Grand Rapids facility.

Last year’s event was a big success and we hope to build on that further.

We will be hosting a car show again as part of the open house. Everyone seemed to enjoy the friendly competition last year. We had 30+ registered vehicles and quite a few others who arrived too late to be voted on. Any European car is welcome so tell all your VW/Audi/BMW/Mercedes/Porsche/Volvo/Saab/Whatever friends. Every person who signs in at the front door will get a ballad. This way everyone can be involved. If you’d like to enter your car in the show, be sure to pre-register by email me at [e-mail].

The entire event will also be 100% free. There is no cost to participate in the show, spectate or for food. The community has been good to GAS over the years. This is our opportunity to give back. In addition, there will be door prizes and a raffle.

We will be grilling up some lunch for everyone. There will be bratwurst and sour-kraut instead of hot dogs. We thought this would be more in keeping with a European car show and please your stomach. Like last year we will also try to provide a vegetarian alternative.

We also have the shop for cars and food so the event will take place rain or shine.

Hello car show participants,

Just a friendly reminder that the German Auto Service Open House and Car Show is this Saturday the 13th.

Thank you very much for your interest in our little show. We have had an overwhelming response this year and are expecting about double the cars we had in 2010. It may be a little bit of a struggle to fit all the cars in our lot. For that reason we ask that you arrive promptly at 9:30 am to secure a parking spot. Please enter our lot from the East via Front Street. There will be a volunteer at the entrance ready to point you in the right direction.

For simplicity sake and to foster an atmosphere of community among the various makes, the vehicles will not be in any particular order. Parking will be organized based on your arrival time. We will try to arrange parking so that if you have to leave early we can squeeze your car out but there is no guarantee that you won't be blocked in to some degree.

Attendees not showing their vehicle will be asked to park in the street or wherever else they can find. Sorry.

The event will take place rain or shine so come on out. Looking forward to seeing and meeting you all Saturday.

Rain or shine, I am going...it's a reason to get out of the house!

I'm registered, and will be there when they start allowing cars in. Kind of interested in seeing what shows up. I might end up going to Blue Lake to visit Dorothy as well at the end of the show, but I am not certain what happens after.

I'm heading there, and looking forward to seeing some of the other cars. I'm registered, too.

I plan on being there early, but would be open to breakfast if others are coming.
