So I'm sure some of you may have heard, some may haven't but I have recently purchased John Hanson's 67 Beetle from him..yes john does all the hard stuff just to sell it. Don't be to down for him he is looking at a 64 I was gonna buy before he told me about his 67. So onward and upward, last weekend was the day!! Dustin and I went down to Battle Creek to hang out with john and Bren to do guy things (beetle things). After countless times back and forth to O-Riley's Auto we ventured over to John's friend Jason's house where she (the 67) was. After about 3 seconds I knew this was it!! I couldn't wait to tell the wife about the new WHIP , thats when things started, Dustin or John pointed out the firewall was a little ruff and since the car wasn't together I should take care of it, after about another 10 Minutes of trying to decide what to do, we started with the tool's. (OH NO) LOL the car was very willing to come apart as she did so in about 15 Minutes.. The start: then ME: I was all over this, A new learning experience. Since I have never taken a body off a bug I was thrilled, enough so where I dove right in with the Brand new clothes the wife just bought me LOL then John decided to lend a hand: and Finally: It was quite an experience, and thanks to Johns strong will we tackled getting that front up in the air like it was a feather..LOL and dustin tackled the rear.. After the lift: I will try to continue to update this as much as possible but the lack of a camera will make things difficult.. Thanks for the interest.

Looks pretty solid. What are your plans? Stock or are you thinking of modifying it?

I've already been talking to samba Sam about a beam, I have Drop spindles and a hole bunch of other parts on the way , I'm gonna make it look good. Next year I'm thinking about paint, I'm looking for a 1600 to run in it still, the one I have just isn't gonna work, this year is all about collecting..

Another 67'! They are taking over!
Looks like a great start. Sure is fun to pull a pan off of a car with lots of help.

Well today started with allot of excitement, I got up headed down to the car was gonna get the pan completely cleaned off and painted black. I got there got the car degrease and power washed the pan, then started to dry it, not five minutes after that it started raining so that pretty much capped my day off, Hopefully tomorrow I can get the paint on and take some photos.

Got the pan cleaned off again today, with some help from my cousin we got half the pan painted but then to my surprise ran out of paint. I cleaned up and around the trans, put the new boots on, brought the control arms to Holland Machine to get the new ball joints put on and got the new wheels and tires. I am planning on getting the tires mounted on Wed's, Oh and RAY I love your wheels those BRM's look so good, I hope my set look's that good on my beetle..LOL
