Each year when Barrett Jackson Auction is on the speed channel I like to watch it..Hours of it. My wife Julie cannot stand it. She will watch it if theres a VW for sale but thats about it. Thurs., Friday and Saturday the Barrett Jackson Las Vegas show is on and if your interested heres the link to the cars for sale in Las vegas. I was just looking at some of the beetles on Barett Jackson, and saw this pic of some kind of shroud on inside of Engine lid..never saw anything like this before  |

I think that shroud is for the convertible deck lids with the vents in them. Keeps the rain off the motor.

:)Yes...I agree...The amount these people buy these cars for are just crazy. I cannot imagine sitting there and nodding my head like its nothing to buy a car for 100,000...500,000 and over a million. Just incredible.

Yea, million bucks for a car that will sit in some warehouse under a cover and never be seen again. Would rather drive a VW.

I was looking through an old issue of the Type 181 Registry Magazine and read the highest published price paid for a Thing was $41,000 at last years Barrett/ Jackson auction. Is that crazy or what?  I like Ruffuss and all but he would have a new owner for that much money!! And I'd have a new toy. Later Kenn |
