Well I have a few hobbies, I really like it when some of them blend together. I recently reentered the world of RC cars/trucks. I was bored with it back in the 90's so I switched to planes which I still love to this day. Well recently rock crawler trucks are all the rage and finally they have trucks that can actually off road for real. So I built one and have rediscovered rc truck bliss. Then I started thinking about back in the day and how with some of todays new tech I could make a cool retro buggy/trail runner. My rock crawler that is one baaad mambajamba, can climb walls!! and my new project, trail buggy Too much fun. Has stolen some time away from other things but that is what hobbies are about ;D

Very cool! To funny, I just got the urge to dig out my rc cars again. Used to race in the late 90s to early 00s. I have 3 RC10T's (and a RC10GT) that Im using to get two running for me and my boys. Waiting for some Deans plugs to come in. But in the mean time I built a battery pack and got one 10T running last night and let my 5yr old drive it, he is a little intimidated by the speed. Its running a stock midnight motor. We had extra new motors and ton of parts to keep em running so this should be fun. I had all my own radio gear in a HPI RS4 touring car when I dug everything out, and initialy got that running, that thing is FAST, to fast. Ive got a 16turn modified in it and it bookes out, but wont take the beating my boys will do to it. Weve got a trick track for bikes nearby and I intend on going there with the boys to get some air. should be fun and Ill try and post some pics.
What type is the rock crawler, is it brushless? I like the look of both of your cars. What rims and tires are on the rc10? Those are cool rims and tires. I also have a tricked out Clodbuster, and a boat, and a tamiya '67 beetle (its yellow, lol), but Im selling the beetle to a guy in the club for funds to get us rolling again. I got burnt out on this stuff way back, and now I want to share it with the boys, hopefully they will have fun with it and it will turn into a hobby for them and I.

Great stuff guys. The rock crawler is an Axial ax-10. It is not brushless and it running either a 27t axial motor or a 65t integy motor depending on the "terrain" It is way more fun than I used to have back in the day cause it truly can go over almost anything and mechanically is very scale. Is that 67 tamiya you getting rid of the street car? You should see what one guy on you tube did with it ;D It now looks like a bug from Mad Max and it now does work off road despite the fact he kept the chassie stock. The wheels on the rc t10 are the wheels and tires for a scale ax-10 land rover defender. I originally bought them for the axial for scale runs (1.9 tires only) but I like the big tires too much and never used them so I modified them for the rc-10 with some traxxas hex nuts. It works well and the tires are the bomb for trail riding.
speaking of trail riding this is what I did yesterday, My truck is the green bronco (backup body for getting muddy)

Some cool cars there. Never seen tracks for one.
I'm selling my Tamiya bug, but its spoken for. I may sell the HPI RS4 I realy don't have a use for it, I have a Z3 body, Porsche, and a Silverado body for it. And foam tires. I ran it the other day and almost tore the rear belt. A rock got stuck and partialy ripped it. Wonder if you can get them.

Your making me want to get a crawler. Or dig up my Clod and put the axle widners on and get it rollin. That things fun. It can realy articulate. I can easily put a can under a tire no problem.

Rock crawling is fun. Trail riding is funner. I cant wait till we have all the guys (over 10 trucks) trail riding. All rigs that can hang are invited Shame I missed out on the sand scorcher I really want one. Till then my rc10 contraption will do. Its actually a better machine but not as cool

The bug wasn't a sand scorcher, I wouldn't sell one if I had one. It was the tamiya chassis that you could setup either front or rear drive, not realy a hi profornance chassis more like a toy, though people used to hop em up. Ill post a pic of my stuff soon, I'm on my phone right now. .
I looked at the Axiel web site pretty cool, I realy like the Scorpion. But funds are near zero for RC cars. Ill have to dig the modded Clod out and show the boys some real RC fun.
