It was a good trip. Very windy!

I had a great time at the show. The Bus ran perfect with out any engine problems. Lots of wind the Bus was a handful driving in the wind. Also there was more traffic than I was use to. I remember driving to the show 2 years ago and I don't think the wind or traffic was that bad.

About a total of 30 cars showed up and 3 of them were GoodVolks. Bren, Marie, John H. Mary and Tom Quada and myself all attended the show.
I did manage to win a door prize. I received a set of head light visors. I thought they might look cool on the Bus, but Wifey did not think so.
One thing I totally forgot about was the 20% off of JC Whitney items at the show. Plus there was an area of discounted items. I purchased a foldaway bicycle rack that slides into the 2" receiver attached to the bus. Originally it was priced $159.99 then marked down to $50. With the 20% off I purchased it for $42 after tax.
Also while there I purchased a ticket to win the 1965 Blue Beetle that HarshWinters are giving away at their Bug-A-Palooza show. Yea I can't really fit into Beetles but it would be cool to win.

Guess I did not take too many photos: padded dash removed from a bay bus:  Slammed bay:  Very cool color on this car:   Cool show. Nice mix of cars. HW always does a nice job. Great group of VW people. We need to show up in force at their Bug-A-Palooza this fall. JCW store was cool. Did not know they actually ran a store there with a parts counter. Could get anything they sell from the warehouse. Like AJ mentioned they had a back room of returned items. I scored a set of 14" stainless steel trim rings for the bus. $24 plus tax; $69.99 new. Appeared to be nothing wrong with them. |
