Well I don't know how to make a POLL. HEY LOOK I DID IT. So I have been offered 575.00 for my Feuling fan shroud, alt stand, and valve covers. 1 do I hang on to it and display it on the shelf in my garage? 2 Do I take the offer and sell it?? 3 Do I try and sell it on the $amba for more money???. You can use any reason to keep it or sell it. Link attached for some simular items no valve covers. (800.00) www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1085232 , or this stand at (80.00) www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1086931 , , .

I kept interesting parts for years in my basement, a.k.a. "The Turkey Lake Museum of Science and Industry". Some of the high points were things like a NOS Veglia white faced mechanical tachometer for a Ducatti twin, BMW NOS sheet metal, tank, fenders, side covers in metallic gold, and a set of 1970 NOS Oldsmobile W-30 heads for a 455, plus at least 100 odds and ends. My buddies loved to go through my basement...
Guys would always come upstairs with a widget yelping "Do you know what this IS?"
What I found out is that parts are no fun on the shelf to keep and polish, and a lot of things I have or had were really pretty unique, and seemed to be made, like the Ducatti stuff, out of "unobtanium". Pretty small group of folks who knew what they were. Fortunately, they were also wealthy and fanatic, which is a good group to sell too.
Over time, I had my greatest successes trading parts made of "unobtanium" for other parts made of "unobtanium" that I actually needed.
I don't know what these are worth, but you might see if there is anything you need that he has, but I would be inclined to sell them. I doubt you would use them yourself, and valve covers and an alternator stand and doghouse are really not that interesting for a display for all but the most knowledgeable fans...
Now, if you had an Offenhouser 4 cyl. engine with a head and valve cover...
Dave
P.S. If anyone needs a set of the last known BMW R-27 hubcaps, or a new Campagnola front motorcycle hub drilled for a disc brake (we think off of a Morbidelli 125cc race bike) drop me a P.M.... :-)

You know, if you sell them, you'll 1) be offered more within a week 2) find something you want to put it on 3) find out the other guy sold it for three times what he gave you..... 4) find out they are a limited addition worth thousands!!!! I say keep them and take offers until you can't resist. I know everything has a price.

Hmmmm, give it all to a club member who will apprectiate the parts for what they are.... Someone who would proudly display them next to his (or her) ARPM shifter, EZR shifters, Truehaft valve covers, Claude's Buggies breather, etc. ;D
