It looks like a solid project; I like it. I'm not sure what to make of the Ad though? It was originally placed almost 2 years ago and it says "Moving need to sell". It also says "make me an offer I can't refuse". So in two years he hasn't 'moved' or received a decent offer? ?

Yeah, His ad is pretty confusing to me. Well I might offer him something and see what happens. Just waiting on my taxes. I'd Like to get it, drive it like it is, put the interior together, lower it and enjoy it. ;D

Odd it has been for sale for so long. Maybe the price is too high? Maybe the condition is not as good as he says? Maybe the car is just waiting for you. I highly recommend taking other VW people with you to look at any car you are seriously thinking about buying. They will help you make a intelligent, non-emotional decision. Even if you don't listen to their advise at least you had it and now they can say I told you so.

Few things I see in the photos.... No carpet No door panels no seat padding or covers Can be expensive to do all the above; does not have to be but can. No rear engine tin; without all the tin the motor can overheat. No rear bumper Not positive but it seems like the front bumper might be aftermarket; rubber grommet between the overrider and main bumper? Rear apron seems to be bent though he says it is perfect. Appears to have an alternator, is it 12 volt? That would be cool. Looks like it has the original radio with knobs. Nice. Car has a cool look. Needs to be lowered. Seems like it could be a good car. My gut feel is the price is a little high for all the work that remains. My 2cents....

I agree with Bren. I too have been watching this car for a while now. He's come down in price over time, but it still looks a little high. A few weeks ago there was a 59 I believe that was in the same general area for sale, but it was nicer and more complete. It was a little cheaper for a little nicer car and that thing sold in just a few weeks. If it was as good as it sounds you would think it would have sold by now. If it were a little closer I would have checked it out by now, because I am in the market again too. Also missing that rear engine tin always worries me, hopefully it wasn't run too long like that.

I think that the reason that car has not sold now is that he started out asking maybe around 4500?? for it. He just now dropped the price down to that..Looks fair except like others mentioned the int. is all gutted out and would need to be redone..otherwise nice car. The 59 mentioned is my car. I WAS asking 2800 then had a trade offer that sort of fell thru so its still sitting in my garage. I was going to possibly try and sell it thru here or out at the shows this year. It is a nice solid car with all the og interior panels and seat covers but needs a headliner. I was gonna repair the isolated spots of rust it has which is not much and either keep it or sell it who knows. It really does not need much to be a NICE car. gotta love an unmolested early beetle. would trade it for a split window bus project..

Indianavw that is a very nice looking car. I looked at the ad everyday when you had it on the samba, and was really bummed when the ad was gone. I'm looking for another car and hopefully its still available in a couple weeks when I'm able to buy. Are you going to re-list it, or just sit on it for a while? My fingers are crossed thats its still around when I'm ready to buy.

Well are there any bugs around this condition in Michigan? I might offer this guy but I'd like to check on here first.
