I just finally registered for FunFest.
I checked the map and it looks like I might meet you guys on I-94 at Exit 40 around Michigan City Indiana. If I remember correctly its part of the planned route. Nothing has been confirmed yet but the reason is because we are planning on leaving our dog with our grandparents in Indiana. It just seems more sense to travel west on US-20 to hit I-94 rather than travel north to the meeting place.

Just a thought I have a beetle tow bar at home and a hitch on the bus. Should I bring the tow bar along? I could rescue a beetle for a short distance with the bus.

What route are you planning on taking? Down I-65 to Indy, then west on I-70?
If so, can someone PM me... I live in Lafayette and would love to tag along if possible...Safety in Numbers...and I also carry all my tools and lots of spare Bug parts!
Regards, Doug (ZWBEETLE)

My wife will join at Effingham. She is coming from Chicago. Aki

Regards, Doug (ZWBEETLE) From the 2009 trip to Effingham IL We leave Friday morning and meet up with everyone in Benton Harbor then take 94 to 65 south and cut over to 57 south on 10 and head into Effingham. Part of this route is 2 lane backroads and we never do over 60-65 on the interstates. Maybe you can still caravan with us since we don't go very fast. An extra fuel pump may be a good idea!! Two years ago, your fuel pump saved my trip. Still I can't decide which car(77 Bus or 70 Ghia) to take. My wife will join at Effingham. She is coming from Chicago. Aki I have the alternator style already packed in my tool bag with the short push rod ready to go. Plus other goodies I will be driving the Bus
