Hi All,
I just bought my first beetle (see pics), a 1967 driver. I am excited but nervous too as I have never owned a 40+ year old car.
I was in Mexico recently and rented a 2001 beetle, I had a blast, it was slow and noisy but I loved it. It's surprising how similar the '67 and '01 are. Air cooled, drum brakes, torsion suspension.
I hope to become an active member of the forum and of the local club and hope I can rely on fellow members to help solve the problems that are sure to come along.
No plans for this car really but to drive it, tinker with it and perhaps slowly restore it. I have already decided my first mod will be to replace the original seat belts with updated shoulder belts.
I look forward to some conversations especially after I get the car out of storage in April.
