Hi, everyone -- I've been reading the forum for a few months, but just registered tonight. I'm in Ann Arbor, and I'm happy to see that there are others here from this side of the state. For quite a few years, I've been wanting to "someday" buy a classic car of some sort and restore it. A few months ago I got the bright idea that a VW would be a great place to start and get my feet wet. I used to work on cars a lot -- nothing as big as removing bodies and rebuilding engines, but that's what I'd like to try. Slowly but persistently.  The more I read here and on thesamba.com, the more I seem to be catching the "VW bug", so to speak. I've already learned a lot by lurking, and I'm sure I'll learn a lot more. |
