That is the plan. I guess we need to get a email out about this. If anyone has agenda item ideas please PM them to me. This time US131 wants to participate and get bug run feedback so bring ideas for that too.

Bren; I don't know if I will make there or not, but I do want to discuss NEXT YEAR's Colour Tour.
I talked to Tom Siligato a few weeks back (and then mentioned it to AJ this past w/e - he seemed to agree it might be fun) about getting the Goodvolks, MVVC, the Toledo club and the Michiana group (and maybe others) to all do their colour tours on the same day and rendezvousing in some central location and then going someplace together - maybe 50 cars or more.
If I don't make it there, pls see that this gets discussed.
I personally, like these intergroup events that we do from time to time and I think this would be a blast.

It is the 16th. I changed Kenn's post to show the 16th. Thanks, I was wishing it was the 10th(no soccer, they were in Ill). So I could do a all day, instead of leaving early, for the 3 games on the 16th.

question for club meeting - Should the moderators keep up with sending out periodic emails regarding finalized event plans? Has anyone else noticed the numbers online and membership has gone up in the last week? Today I see 42 members and 142 guests in the last 24 hours. Those are up from 38ish members and 110ish guests from early last week. I'm guessing a lot of the guests are members not signed in, but I really think the emails have reminded some inactive members to check out the site again. Membership is up to 305! I think we have to keep these emails to a minimum so the less active members don't treat them as junkmail. Whoever's idea the emails were recently - great job!

I don't think that your right about the emails Teeniebits. You need to do something to send to folks every now and then to promote club activities, and this is by far the best way to do so.
If we don't send out emails, we get folks who complain that we don't send things out in a timely fashion for an event, and that they did not know about an event that has been discussed on the boards for weeks.
If less active members treat them as junk mail, that is their problem. They can check the boards more frequently, and then would know what the email is about. If they don't frequent the boards, the email tells them about upcoming events. If they choose to ignore emails, or really don't want emails from us, then they really are not all that interested in the club.
You are correct that many of the folks are not signed in, but you really can't do anything about it.
Emails do not cost any money, and take seconds to scan. They are just not that big of a deal, and can come in handy if you miss something.

I think we are saying pretty much the same thing, Dave. My husband has been a member since May '10 and the emails in this last week have been the first for him, but of course there have been events since that time. I think an email should always go out when there are events happening. My statement about the "keep these emails to a minimum" was my way of trying to say not to include all "discussion" type info like what is in the forums (cuz that's what the forums are for), but more of an email with final details for that particular event. I think the two emails in the last week regarding the color tour and the club meeting were great, necessary, and effective!

Good discussion. I agree that the emails are a good idea. We used to send them through a gmail account. Kind of got away from doing it. No real reason why. This email tool on the forum is easier. We do plan to start emailing about events in the future. This club grows through participation. We are always looking for people to see something needing to be done and take on that task. That is part of what we hope to discuss at the business meeting. -Bren
