Any Battle Creekers wanna caravan up M-66 PM me. We'll arrange a meeting place. I'm thinking a KCC parking lot.

I reviewed my notes and stickies on Google Earth again and I believe I have a good rough draft. I still need to type up the directions and have some trial runs done. So far I am looking at 47 miles from the freeway exit to the Cider Mill. Then 45 miles back to the freeway. Currently it looks like I am ending at a park-n-ride but I need to verify. This will give us a place to regroup and swap stories about the trip. How does this sound to everyone?

Can we get a rout layout? Im trying to talk the wife/ and or kids into comming and I need to explain where we are going. Also I have a german exchange student (15 yr old girl) that will be with us. Maybe I can get her and Cassie to go.... But I need to have a sales pitch so where are we going?

Here is a quick overview of 2010 Color Tour
We start at exit 67 off of I96 about halfway between Grand Rapids and Lansing. We then head North / West near Ionia State Park. Then we head North until we reach Riverside Drive. Riverside Drive kind of hugs a river and goes through some wooded areas . I may increase speed here because of traffic and the fact that we travel for about 9 miles on the same road. We then reach a town called Lyons and by the looks of things its a small town split by the same river. Then its a run down Bluewater Highway or M21 for about 10 miles speed will also increase due to traffic. Bluewater Highway runs through lots of farmland until we come to St. Johns. In St. Johns we catch 127 and head north until we reach Uncle John's Cider Mill.
At Uncle John's Cider Mill I plan on stopping for lunch so everyone can grab a bite and check out all of the neat things there.
When everyone has had their fill we will take off for the next leg of the journey. The plan is to head west / north and cut through the Maple River State Game Area to see the wooded areas. Then west on to Cleveland Road for a stretch to see more farm land. A quick left on to Luce Road which cuts through more wooded areas. Until we run into Maple Rapids. After that the rest of the trip winds through a bunch of small towns and farm land until we run back into I96 again. I am planning on stopping at the same Travel Center so everyone can hang out for a bit before everyone goes on there separate journeys home.

I just called Uncle John's Cider Mill to let them know we will be stopping by around noon ish on Sunday; 10/17/2010.
He said that there is plenty of parking available so we should be able to park as a group. We don't need a reservation because the place is able to accommodate a large number of people. He did mention that it might be busy because this is their busy season but because of our smaller group we should be fine.
Uncle John's Cider Mill is open from 9am to 8pm. They have lunch available from 11am to 3pm. The Gift Shop is open from 9am to 8pm and the Winery is open from 12noon to 7pm
I am guessing we just show up at around noon ish and then just hang out. We can just leave when everyone is finished.

You meant Sunday NEXT... not THIS Sunday. (color tour is 10/17/2010. (edited by Bren))
Maybe we'd be better off shooting for 1pm? Maybe by then the "lunch crowd" or "after church" crowd might be thinning out.
Speaking of "after church", if all you guys are gonna cruise Sunday morning, who's gonna pray for me??
