I must have counted at least 20 diffrent VW's. You see at least 3 or 5 in the first 25 mins... I think it must have been filmed in Germany... If you have never seen it or havent seen it in a long time turn it on and watch its amazing!!!!!!! Check it out! Its Pretty kool to see them in there natural invoroment!!! LOL!!!!! Troy

Filming commenced on August 31, 1970 and ended on November 19, 1970. The primary shooting location was Munich, Bavaria, West Germany, because it was significantly cheaper than filming in the U.S., and the setting was conducive to Wonka's factory. Stuart also liked the ambiguity and unfamiliarity of the location. External shots of the factory were filmed at the Munich Gaswerks (Emmy-Noether-Straße 2); the flats and clocktower still exist.[6] The closing sequence when the Wonkavator is flying above the factory is footage of Nördlingen in Bavaria.

I caught the last 20 minutes of the original Hawaii 5-0 series the other night, counted at least 8 beetles, wife and I were saying, there's one, there's one...wonder how many we would have seen if we had watched the whole 8 hour marathon

The "Dirty Harry" series has been shown on American Movie Classics (AMC) this week. These movies were filmed in California starting in the early 70's. It's hard to ignore the car chases and shooting in the movie, but if you watch closely you'll see a lot of VW's.

I've been using the IMCDB Ghia list to get movies from the library (see my previous post above).
Besides Kill Bill, Vol. 2 (which I own), I've borrowed (and ripped) the following Karmann Ghia movies: "Pretty In Pink", "Aquamarine", "Whip It" and "What Lies Beneath".
YES!! They are ALL 'chick flicks'. So what? Anybody wanna make something out of that??? I am secure in my manhood (but I find myself explaining a lot to the librarian on checkout).
Sadly, the library here in Battle Creek did not have "Death Race 2000" which is the one I was REALLY looking forward to seeing as I secretly want to turn my '74 coupe into a killing machine....
I need to reinstate my Netflix account.
