I'm thinking of buying some of the "bug me" videos. Has anyone watched them and are they worth the $30 a piece?
I probably know 50-75% of anything they would cover but am looking for those tidbits of info that will give me that "Eureka" moment. Plus its always nice to see close up the disassembled view of what ever I'm attempting.
Do you think these will give me that or is there another video set I haven't discovered that is better?

I think they are very good. Watch ebay, sometimes you can find them cheaper.

I have the brake one on VHS somewhere and I bet people have others. We could have a club library I can donate my bug me video.

I borrowed Johns and I believe Dustins videos from Bren. So it will help me help Bren and his other 67. The floor pans and heater channels videos. I too would like to get the whole set for a reasonable amount of course"cheep".

I offered the OP copies of mine but he was not interested. No biggie. Thought I would let anyone else know that if you would like a copy of any one of them just PM me. I had the VHS set and copied them over to DVD because VHS is the suck.

The whole set is over $200 so maybe I'll ask for Christmas. There weren't any for sale on Samba or Ebay as of today.
I feel like I should buy them to support whoever produces these things. I'm sure they'll save me that much in labor and headache.

They came to MAM Funfest one year and did demonstrations on dual carb tuning, floor pans, and heater channels. Very nice people and he could tune those dual carbs just listening to them and they would run perfect.

I got a set of the BugMe videos last night and watched the engine removal and clutch repair. The engine removal part was pretty straight forward but was very nice to actually see it done instead of just read about how to do it. Engine removal from a beetle is definately easier than a Ghia.
What I like was the tips that might seem obvious to some but we're very helpful to me. These were the Eureka moments I was looking for like: where is the safest place to put the jack to raise the car to max height without damaging the frame; where is the best place to place the blocks; what kind of floor jack to use; etc.
The clutch portion was great primarily because I don't know squat about clutches. The instructor gave some nice tips on what not to do and how to do the more difficult adjustments with basic tools.
There's just no substitute for seeing it done. Glad I bought them.
One thing to note however. The DVD's did not play in my home DVD player. They did play in my computer. I'll be calling to find out if this is supposed to be this way or I got a bad DVD.
