My car came with the original battery box and cover so I am good there. Is the spot under the back seat a good area to store your spare parts or do you keep them up front?
Where do you have your fire extinguisher mounted in your car?

I will have to make up a small spare parts kit to go under the back seat. I take it a Fire Extinguisher is a must have. Thanks yeah but unfortunatly one doesnt always do the trick,i carry 2 cause i had an engine fire a few years back and the fire department had to finish it off-ruined paint, back window/seal, back half harness and most of top half of engine. With that and spinning crank bearing as the top 2 worse for me---- I should have a truck and trailer follow me everywhere(easier than spare motor/tranny) ;D

I just found a good pic of one mounted under the glove box. I kinda like the looks of that. I'm hoping I can make it down to Ohio on Sunday to look around and ask a lot of questions and take a lot of pics.

I carry a small kit of the most common tools I use, fan belt, longest plug wire and just added spare plugs. Also have some wire, wire ties and electrical tape. Lately I've been staying close to home, never going outside of the bus route! LOL

AJ is the ultimate Boy Scout (Always Prepared). I think he's bailed out a few with his spares.
Me, I've got a spare belt, a few hand tools, miniature 12v air pump, spare tire and yes... a bottle of Slime - just in case

The DC has a HUGE storage area under rear seat. A large tool box{my old dunes box}, fire extinguisher, a complete 1/2 shaft assembly with fresh greased CVs {vacuumed sealed withe bolts and 6mm allen socket}, Bosch points and condenser, fan belt, compact hydraulic jack, flashlight, small electric latern, tow strap, quart of oil, fuses, wash bucket{with the fixin's},and all the detailing stuff. Probably some more stuff I forgot about.

I don't know about you guys, but I wan't to be next to Rick or AJ wherever I go in the Pig of Plastic.
I'm pretty certain they have parts to fix anything this side of throwing a rod!
MadMike bailed me out last year after the spring Bug Run when the Pig of Plastic had a throttle cable come undone. I had a lot of tools, but sadly, no metric allen wrenches! I think it was about fifth in MadMikes tools. He even let me borrow it and send it back to him by mail to make certain Andrew and I got home safely!

Complete set of wrenches 6 to 19mm, set of 3/8 drive sockets, 8 to 21mm, 1/2in. breaker bar with 22mm socket for lug nuts, assorted screw drivers, electrical tape, zip ties, Pertronix module, small assortment of nuts and bolts, several types of pliers, knife, file, med. hammer, tire repair kir, spark plug wires and connectors, assorted electrical connectors and wire, couple of push rods, v/c gaskets, all stored in a low profile snap on box. Other items are, fanbelt, clutch & accelerator cables, and a jack. Sounds like a lot of stuff, but everything fits neatly in the box and spare tire well, oh yeah, almost forgot the fire extinguisher
