What I have is a 1968 sunroof Beetle. Its a pretty nice car overall, freshly repainted, dropped spindles, lowered in the back, low back seats, cd player with sony speakers. There are a few touches that I would like to add. A new engine (Mazda RX7 swap), new carpet as well as door panels. Its a pretty solid California car overall, with little rust on the pans. I will try to attach a few pics to see if it works.

Car looks good Chris. I like the wheels and the stance of the car. Very aggresive looking.
Where did you take that second photo?

Is that along side the road trying to go to Funfest? The car does look really good. We need more pictures though.

Agreed...that is a nice, clean looking car. Very similar in color to my '70 (before my crazy paint work). Like you, I have the sunroof--very cool.

THanks for all of the feedback, that pic was taken on the side of the road waiting for the tow truck. I at this time cant take pics, my girlfriend has both of our cameras, and she is on vacation.

As many of you may know, I have had some engine trouble in the past month. Well finally time allowed me to pull the motor. And when it was all said and done, I need to replace the short block. Spun the #3 rod bearing. Luckily, I have another block to transfer all of my stuff over too. Only time will tell how long this takes to complete.

Well, I am making some headway on the motor. I have it half assembled, and I am waiting on a tap for the case saver. Which will be here tommorow. So god willing, many of you will be seeing my car this coming weekend at gilmores.

I just noticed when I read your update, that you painted those 8 spokes black. They look much better now rather than that blue. Keep up the good work.

Haha, thanks for the compliment on those. I am now thinking of powdercoating a set of stock steelies white, and running a smooth hupcap, but I am not sure. The gunmetal painted wheels is not something you see everyday.

I like the black wheels. Really sets off the look of the car. Gives it a nice aggressive look.

Of course, You'll have it at Gilmore and now I'm not going to be there. I was just asked to work on Saturday and I going to do it since I am about out of unemployment benefits. I'm hoping this is the beginning of full time employment again.

congrats on the job...Its alright, I will have it at our show at Martin . What is the best way to rinse out a motor in case there are any shavings. I put fresh oil in it to start it, and I was planning on changing it before I even drive it. Chris
