Yep. I should probably put it up on blocks so it would be easier to work on.

Hey, Goodvolks! Not much to show for a lot of chiselin'! I have been sidetracked to make some Disney decorations for our daughter's wedding. I hope to weld new pans on by early next week. They are standing behind the frame. YEE-HAH!

I've been sidetracked for the last couple of weeks. Daughter's wedding, deerhunting for the first opening day in many years, powerwashing decks, projects in the woodshop for charities and family. The end is not in sight! In a couple of weeks I should be back on track. Almost ready to weld pans on.

What are you doing in the woodshop? I enjoy woodworking as well. However, I tend to only get down there in the winter. Do you post on lumberjocks.com? I have some of my projects posted on there.

I do all kinds of stuff. Treasure chests for grandkids, music boxes, adirondack chairs, lighthouses, hope chests, bedside tables, bows, arrows, knives and hatchets. And decorations for our daughter's wedding, briefcases, and, and. You get the picture, I know. I am beginning to get serious about some Christmas gifts now. I was thinking door panels and rear seat side panels might look good in wood on a 71 super b! Thanks for the tip on lumberjocks. I already registered. Wells

I have been in a tinkering mode building motivation to get going again on the project. New lights and an entertainment center. Tomorrow I add heat to the shop! It's gettin' comfortable out there!

Very nice, I think all garages should have a TV.

Looks like you could move in there! Very nice. Is that a wood lathe I see?

Yes it is! I inherited the tools my Dad had and I had some of my own. I have added more. Between the chainfall, air compressors, band saws, table saw, drill press, lathe, router table grinder station, chop saw and soon to add planer, I am going to have to stay organized or add on! Wells

Well, the wedding is done and projects can begin again. I have spent the last couple of days working on adding a wood heater to my garage. That will be a welcome addition. I didn't say it before but all of my power tools are on casters. I have 3 major wood projects to do, a floor to install and a bug to finish. Shouldn't take more than a couple of weeks, right?!?":#* FA - La - La - La - LAh...

I have a wood burner in my pole barn and it works ok but my barn is kinda big. If I want to work out there the wood burner needs to be burning for about an hour before I go out then it will get 55 degrees which is nice. I am looking forward to some progress on this car I love seeing people work on Superbeetles.

Well, I've been away for some time. Too little time and too many commitments. But the wedding is done, the Christmas presents are made, my year as president is half over, the weather is warming and I'm gettin' the VW bug again. No pics yet but hopefully next week I weld on new floor pans and then I'm off to the ... do you really race with a standard beetle engine? I've been reading your posts and you people are amazing in what you do.

Well, ya'll are still here! I've been gone for too long. I let too much get in the way of my restoration, including a return to the work force for one year to help a friend. Volunteering for Church, Masons and Scouts is going to be reduced for a while! I'll re-retire at the end of September. I am ready to restart my restoration by welding in NEW FLOOR PANS! I'll be readin' and watchin' and learnin'! I long to hear that magic purr of a 1600...... Wells

I was thinking about you a while ago. Wondering where you went. Glad to hear you are still planning to get to the VW.
