We had a person email me from Baton Rouge LA. and they visited our website and thought it was great. He saw the color of my car and was wondering the paint code? Of course we have no idea because the car was probably painted in Florida from where it was before it came to MI. He has the same color and his paint is chipping away and wanted to paint it the same color as before. He was just asking if anyone has come across the paint code close to a baby blue or has anyone in the club painted their car close to it? He sent a picture of his car. If anyone knows a paint code close to it I can email him back someday. Click on link to see his car. Gives me ideas of putting flames on ours. But I dont know if Julie would got for that. www2.snapfish.com/slideshow/AlbumID=1914958024/PictureID=61337048024/a=1958132024_1958132024/otsc=SHR/otsi=SPIClink/COBRAND_NAME=snapfish/John in Plainwell

I once stripped a 1969 Ghia that was originally a light blue L 51 K (55) chrome blue Here is a nice picture of the color from thesamba If you want I still have a few bits of scrap still painted original blue you could match it up. Here is a picture of the Ghia I cut up.

I would think he would be best off taking it into a high quality auto body and paint supply shop and having them match the paint. Since we can't know for sure if it is factory paint or not. Another resource is wolfsburgwest.com/colors/ccfaq.cfm. This gives factory codes, if it is an original color the code would most likely be here. -Bren

Thanks. I will send him all your information. He really liked all the cars and buses on our site and liked how the website was setup.
Thanks. John

John, Check the Samba site. There are color charts which include all vw colors and code #s under the Technical section. There is no Baby Blue designation in the color chart. It may be Marina Blue or Diamond Blue. Aki
